LANEY MADSEN

I was born on March 14, 2001 in Darmstadt, Germany where my father was stationed with the U.S. Military. My father is American, while my mother is Bulgarian, in which I am both half American as well as half Bulgarian. After living in Germany for eight years, my family and I had moved to California.

Athletics have always held a significant role in my life. I began partner stunting at age 1 and began competitive All Star Cheerleading at six years old. My first National and European competition appearance was at seven years old, while my first World Championship appearance was at thirteen years old.

Over the course of the past years, I've been able to accomplish the following:

~ Junior All American

~ 6 time National Champion

~ 2 time Silver World Champion

~ 2 time Junior World Champion

I've had the pleasure of competing in front of audiences up to 12,000 people with Live ESPN coverages and appearances, as well as being featured in numerous magazines, including a big screen movie.

After being incredibly inspired by the 2012 Olympic games, I began gymnastics and started training at Gym-Max Gymnastics.

In April of 2014,  I competed at my final Cheerleading World Championships in Orlando, FL and was awarded with a Silver medal.

After spending the summer focusing primarily and only on my gymnastics, I was able to make great improvements and efficiently progress forward in my Gymnastics.

In November of 2014, I was able to be invited to the National Team Training Center in Houston, Texas as the first female gymnast to be invited without any prior competitive gymnastics experience.

In January of 2015, I took part and competed in my first Gymnastics competition as Level 10, and later on that summer, began training for the Elite Level.

In 2016, I passed my Elite compulsory testing, but unfortunately missed my Elite Optional qualification score by 0.2. After putting more focus and work in my Elite routines, I was able to re-test in February of 2017, in which I successfully passed and officially qualified as a Senior Elite gymnast to the 2017 US Secret Classics in Chicago, IL.

In July of 2017, I was able to officially become an International Senior Elite Gymnast.

As 2018 begins, I am continuing to push towards my goals, and am even working harder towards accomplishing those goals and bettering myself in all areas as the year progresses along. I am looking forward to the continued lessons to be learned ahead, and hold a positive and determined mindset to continue to serve Him, and get better in and out of the gym!
